Głosowałem za rezolucją dotyczącą powodzi w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej, ponieważ wierzę, że Unia Europejska opiera się na zasadach współpracy i solidarności, zwłaszcza w obliczu kryzysów. Projekt integracji europejskiej, który rozpoczęliśmy ponad 70 lat temu, zobowiązuje nas do wspólnego działania w takich trudnych chwilach. Wzajemny szacunek, empatia i zrozumienie są fundamentalnymi wartościami, na których zbudowana jest Unia Europejska. Dzisiejsze katastrofy, takie jak powodzie w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej i pożary na południu kontynentu, przypominają nam, że zmiany klimatyczne są rzeczywistością, z którą musimy się mierzyć. Obserwujemy coraz większą intensywność i częstotliwość klęsk żywiołowych oraz ekstremalnych zjawisk pogodowych. Jako kontynent potrzebujemy przyspieszenia zmian w obszarze energetyki, zwłaszcza inwestycji w zieloną energię, która nie tylko przyczynia się do ochrony środowiska, ale także napędza gospodarkę. Rezolucja, którą poparłem, promuje potrzebne i uzasadnione postulaty inwestowania w naturalne i infrastrukturalne rozwiązania, które pomogą w przyszłości złagodzić skutki takich zjawisk jak powodzie. Kluczowe jest także, by wspierać finansowo regiony dotknięte katastrofami, co również znalazło się wśród postulatów tego dokumentu. Solidarność, zarówno w obszarze finansowym, jak i infrastrukturalnym, jest niezbędna, aby sprostać wyzwaniom, jakie przed nami stoją.
