2023 and 2024 Commission reports on Ukraine
Az elmúlt években a magyar kormány rendszeresen megpróbálta aláásni az orosz agresszió által sújtott Ukrajna önvédelmi törekvéseit és uniós csatlakozását. Orbánék egyik rendszeresen hangoztatott érve az volt, hogy Ukrajna ellehetetlenítette a magyar kisebbség anyanyelvhasználati jogait. Hiába fogadott el Ukrajna 2023-ban egy törvénymódosítás, amely visszaállította a kisebbségek nyelvhasználati jogait, a magyar kormány továbbra is a régi érveit hangoztatja. Ugyanakkor mind tudjuk, hogy itt valójában nem a magyar kisebbség, hanem az Ukrajnát lerohanó Vlagyimir Putyin érdekeinek védelméről van szó. Ezért akadályozza rendszeresen a magyar kormány hamis érvekre, köztük a magyar kisebbség helyzetét érintő kérdésekkel kapcsolatos vitákra hivatkozva, hogy Ukrajna megfelelő nyugati támogatásban részesülhessen az agresszorral szembeni önvédelemhez, és hogy folytathassa előrehaladását az uniós tagság felé vezető úton. Orbánt nem érdekli az ukrajnai magyar kisebbség, és pusztán ürügyként használja a nyelvhasználatot érintő kérdéseket, hogy kedvére tegyen gazdájának, az orosz diktátornak. Ha Orbán egy fikarcnyit is törődne az ukrajnai magyarokkal, akkor nem akadályozná az országot az EU-hoz való csatlakozás folyamatában, mivel a kisebbségek nyelvhasználati jogát úgy lehetne a legjobban garantálni, hogyha Ukrajna az Unió tagjává válna. Ezért szavaztam meg az Ukrajnáról szóló jelentésben azt, hogy a magyar kormány csak kihasználja a kisebbségi kérdéseket, pusztán azért, hogy hátráltassa Ukrajnának az Európai Unióhoz való csatlakozását.
